Dr Stephen Burley from King’s High School in Warwick, UK, has been crowned “Best Head of a Public School”聽at the聽Tatler Schools Guide Awards.
This prestigious accolade is handed to a head who goes 鈥渁bove and beyond鈥 in leading their school.
Dr Burley has been behind a number of innovations at King’s High, including a shake-up of the curriculum.
King鈥檚 Curriculum of the Future Project has seen the introduction of two 鈥淔uture Ready鈥 courses. Designed by staff at King鈥檚 High, they are offered to pupils as a replacement to one or two of their GCSE choices.
The school鈥檚 offers units on social justice, global citizenship, climate change, and law and the legal system. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme covers data analysis, sustainable engineering, neuroscience and entrepreneurship.
Following the award this week, Dr Burley said: 鈥淚 was absolutely thrilled to be named Tatler Best Head 2025 鈥 the award belongs to the whole King鈥檚 High community and reflects the incredible dynamism, energy, and success of this wonderful school.

King’s High has also been named a聽Tatler School 2025, and will be among 300 schools appearing in the Tatler Schools Guide.
