Box Hill School in Surrey has been relaunched as RGS Surrey Hills after it joined the Reigate Grammar School (RGS) Group.
The 375-pupil co-ed boarding school for students aged 11 to 19 near Dorking in Surrey will retain its staff and 鈥渦nique identity鈥, a LinkedIn announcement said.
RGS Group, which includes nearby , has said that the former Box Hill School will retain its own leadership team, teaching staff, community and curriculum, including International Baccalaureate (IB) and A-levels.
Box Hill – now RGS Surrey Hills – said: 鈥淭his partnership strengthens what we already do so well: offering a nurturing, academically ambitious education with strong values at its heart. We retain our staff and unique identity 鈥 while gaining the support and shared opportunities of the award-winning RGS Group.鈥
The statement explained how the schools would complement each other: 鈥淏oth Reigate Grammar School and RGS Surrey Hills will remain fully independent in character and admissions, offering distinct pathways to success. Reigate Grammar School provides a larger, academically ambitious environment in the heart of Reigate, while RGS Surrey Hills offers a smaller, close-knit setting for students who thrive in a gentler pace with personalised support.鈥

The RGS Group includes Reigate Grammar School 鈥 The Sunday Times‘ Independent School of the Year 2025 鈥 along with four prep schools and international schools in Vietnam, China and Saudi Arabia.
