Cavendish Education is set to open a new specialist school in Surrey, UK.
, will open in September 2025 on a 40-acre site in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The school, for children with or waiting for an Education, Health and Care Plan, will offer a nurturing, supportive, and therapeutic learning environment聽for children and young people aged 7 to 16 years (initially accepting 7 to14 years).
Students will have an underlying diagnosis of autism and/or social communication challenges, the school鈥檚 website says.
It adds: 鈥淭he school will provide education and holistic therapeutic support for children who may experience difficulties regulating their emotional and social presentations, encounter frequent bouts of anxiety and/or general poor mental wellbeing, be likely to find it a challenge to make and maintain appropriate and healthy relationships, and/or struggle to engage in effective communications and to regulate their feelings.鈥
The site will include facilities such as specialist classrooms for science, design technology, art, and music; a 鈥渂lack box鈥 performing arts theatre and high quality sports and outdoor education facilities.
The new school joins other schools in the Cavendish Education group with an autism specialism, including and in London.
