
London independent school stalwart Sarah Segrave has been appointed as the new headmistress of , UK, the schools鈥 governors have announced.
Ms Segrave is currently principal of the and headmistress of Eaton House the Manor Prep School in Clapham.
Educated at Cranbrook School in Kent, she studied education at the University of Durham and the Institute of Education.
Eaton House Schools 鈥 now owned by Dukes Education 鈥 is made up of five schools and nurseries across Belgravia and Clapham in London and Ms Segrave has played a pivotal role in the group鈥檚 success, the school said.
Ms Segrave was a founding member of staff for Eaton House The Manor Boys’, joining age 22 as a history and Latin teacher. She now feels like “the guardian of the school spirit”, she told the Good Schools Guide.
Her leadership journey began with her first headship at the pre-prep at just 29 years old. In 2010, she took the helm of Eaton House Girls鈥 School, and in 2016, she became head of Eaton House The Manor Prep, overseeing a school of 250 boys aged 8 to 13. Since 2022, Sarah has combined that with the role of principal for the entire group of schools.

Sarah Segrave added: 鈥淚 feel hugely privileged and proud to be taking on the headship at Sandroyd from September 2025. Following in Alastair Speer鈥檚 footsteps, with the full support of the Governors, is a great honour.鈥
Ms Segrave, her husband Nick and two children aged 18 and 16, will move to Sandroyd this summer, and her post will officially start in September.
Sandroyd is a leading co-educational boarding and day school in Wiltshire for children aged 2 to 13.
