
Victoria Playford has been announced as the new headmistress of in London, from January 2025.聽
Ms Playford joins the boys鈥 pre-prep from , where she has been headteacher since 2017. She is also an Independent School鈥檚 Inspectorate (ISI) team inspector.
Commenting on Victoria Playford鈥檚 appointment, Mark Snell, UK education director for Inspired Education, said: 鈥淲e are exceptionally pleased to appoint Victoria as Wetherby School Kensington鈥檚 next headteacher. She was the unanimous choice of the selection panel. We were inspired by Victoria鈥檚 warmth, energy, ideas, leadership style and her knowledge of the London day school system. We are very confident that she is the right person to lead the school at this exciting time in its development.鈥
Ms Playford said: 鈥淚 am very excited by this opportunity, not just to lead Wetherby Kensington School but also to join the Inspired Education Group. Wetherby is known as a vibrant, exciting learning environment and I look forward to drawing on my experience in order to take a school which has such a deservedly strong reputation on to further excellence.鈥
Wetherby School Kensington opened in 2017 and forms part of the Wetherby group of schools run by private equity owned group Inspired.
The Good Schools Guide describes it as having an approach that is “warm and caring” that “makes hard work fun for all”, highlighting its “well-qualified, bright eyed and bushy tailed staff”
